SPORTS OPPORTUNITY IN UNIVERSITY

The University Board of Sports & Physical Education came into existence in the year 1949. The objective of the Board of Sports & physical Education is to take necessary steps for promotion of sports culture and activities in the field of sports in colleges and university departments and also to establish links with regional and national bodies in the various sports and to promote various activities jointly with them in colleges, recognized institutions and university departments as per the policy of the university.

NSS

National Service Scheme (NSS) has been introduced at Savitribai Phule Pune University since 1969 as a part of the academic programs and since then NSS has been functioning as a regular feature in the realm of our university education. The overall objective of the scheme is educational and service to the community is the activity through which the objective is sought to be achieved. It is a student-cantered program in which projects are implemented by the NSS volunteers in the community in close collaboration with the community and thereby it provides vast scope for the student's interaction with the people.

NCC

The University supports the activities of the NCC [National Cadet Corps].There NCC units in the colleges/ institutes. All N.C.C. cadets who participate at the Republic Day parade or take part in any of the advancedlevel camps organized by the three services is Army, Navy orAir force are felicitated by the University at the annual N.C.C. dayf functionorganized by the University. Lecture with regard to opportunitiesin the armed forces are also arranged on the same day.
